Organic Powdered Sencha
Just introduced a new product here a few days ago, Organic Powdered Sencha. This product hails from Uji, near Kyoto, and is first harvest. While it doesn’t rival in taste with it’s matcha cousin, this is probably one of the easiest ways to drink green tea I can think of. Basically, all you do is put about a quarter of a teaspoon into a cup of hot water, stir, and you are ready to go.

From a health benefits point of view, this is probably one of the healthiest green teas one could drink. I say that because it comes from ground sencha leaves, which are grown in full sun, and sencha has higher levels of polyphenols and antioxidants that shade grown matcha or gyokuro does. Of course, those are higher in amino acids, but anyway, you get the point. It is also a certified organic green tea by JONA/JAS, the organizations responsible for such things here in Japan. This item comes in a 60 package which includes a spoon, and we priced it right. So while I personally would prefer a loose leaf sencha over an organic powdered green tea, based on past experience I would say this product should be popular.

If you whisk it up, you can have your very own tea ceremony!
