Moving…

Posted in Company at 8:51 am by site admin

First, in case anyone actually follows this, my applogies for waiting 1.5 years between posts! Anyway, our little company has grown steadily over the last 10 years.  We first started out of my house in Mesa, AZ, and then moved to Japan a little over 5 years ago, where we’ve been operating out of a tiny little office.  At the moment, we carry 108 different green tea related items, and I have plans to carry more, but where to put it? It’s really getting cramped here. For that reason, it has become necessary to move to a new office.  This move will take place starting next week, but I have a whole month to make it happen.

Getting to this point has been no small feat, let me tell you. Without even taking into account the language issues, doing business in Japan is quite a bit more complex, and expensive, than it was in Arizona.  Up until November, we were running things based on an American C corporation out of Arizona.  Banks are a pain in the neck here in Japan, and wiring money back and forth was a  headache.  We finally set up a the equivalent of an LLC here in Japan and while it was a headache to implement, things progressed much smoother from that point. I can’t believe I waited so long.
Being that we live in the countryside, our rent is considerably lower than it would be in a larger Japanese city. We will have oh so much more room to stock new items. So, as of next week, operations commence from a much larger facility, excellent.

Let’s celebrate your move and success by offering a coupon/sale! P.S. I know about the $2 discount on the Shincha already :)

I will definitely do that. However, at the moment I have to focus on shincha, too many things going on at once! I’m open to suggestions though, let me know!

It’s good to see the blog being revived. All the best dealing with all the major life changes.
